January 2025 Tuesday Morning - Debbie Coddington
This has been rescheduled to occur during our September retreat due to cold temperatures & the Lawrence Public School closure on the original dates.
Although Debbie does not come from a family history of quilting, she caught the “bug” when as a child in the late 1950s she observed the local quilting ladies around a big floor frame. From that time until the late 1980s, she dreamed of being able to create her own beautiful quilts. And now that dream has come true!

Wall quilt/table topper – approx.. 32” point-to-opposite point). This is a “one and done” project: one block is all it takes to complete the top of the quilt. No “y-seams”, easy piecing. April 2025 Monday Evening - Sandy Gard
Sandy Gard is a NACQJ-certified judge from Oklahoma, Quilt judges understand that entrants are at different stages of their quilting journey. Quilt show judges don’t have the luxury of studying your quilt for hours on end. In most cases, they only have a few minutes to evaluate each quilt. Their critiques cite areas of strength and areas for improvement that they can note in that short time span.

August 2025 Monday Evening - Betsy Habich
I LOVE fabric and thread! and this talk is about that life-long love and exploration of its possibilities. Starting with my first quilt made with my early crewel- and batik-work, through sampler quilts, early pieced picture quilts from my studies with Ruth McDowell, to experiments with realism using painting, appliqué, and thread painting, with a few guilty diversions into fun stuff like Stack-n-Whack.
